Sheriff’s Office: Suspect arrested in Georgia

A man wanted in a fatal shooting Friday night on Town Street was arrested Monday morning in Jesup, Georgia, the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office said.

Zachary Maurice Richardson, 34, was arrested by the Wayne County Sheriff's Office in Jesup, the Sheriff’s Office said in a release. He is awaiting extradition back to Cumberland County.

Richardson is wanted in the shooting death of Lowell Anderson, 58, of Fayetteville, the Sheriff’s Office said.

The shooting occurred on the 3500 block of Town Street, Hope Mills. Deputies found Anderson with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead, the Sheriff’s Office has said.
