Hikers can book it along StoryWalk

Posted

Fayetteville’s second StoryWalk is now open. Cumberland County Public Library officials held a grand opening for the learning trail April 11 at Lake Rim Park.
Read while you walk.
That’s the concept behind StoryWalk, a half-mile walking trail that features each page of a picture book laminated and displayed so that adults and children can read the book together as they take the chance to exercise and enjoy the outdoors.
The first StoryWalk location is at Clark Park.
StoryWalk is updated throughout the year. The picture book displays also feature early-literacy activities; STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) activities; and movement exercises.
StoryWalk is a collaboration between the library system and Fayetteville-Cumberland Parks & Recreation and is funded by a State Library of North Carolina Bright Ideas grant.
The Lake Rim StoryWalk is at 2214 Tar Kiln Drive. StoryWalk at Clark Park is at 631 Sherman Drive.
