Fayetteville State pool available to groups after major renovations

Posted

Fayetteville State University’s Olympic-size swimming pool reopened to the campus community in January after a nearly three-year hiatus and almost $750,000 in restorations.

“The timing of our relaunch couldn’t have come at a better time as summer is an amazing time to be on the FSU campus. We are thrilled that our beautifully renovated aquatic center is open and ready for use not only for our Bronco community but our broader local community as well,” said Chancellor Darrell T. Allison.

The aquatic center has served as a significant resource for community groups including Cumberland County Schools, K-12 nonpublic schools, Fayetteville-Cumberland Parks & Recreation, and the YMCA.

Members of registered organizations may use the pool during evening swim time. For information and schedules, contact the organization directly.

Part of FSU’s physical education and recreation complex, the pool is available for students, faculty and staff. Memberships are free for students, and family passes are available for purchase. Faculty and staff members may also purchase passes.

The aquatic center summer schedule is from June 15 to Aug. 10.

The pool is available to FSU students/families, faculty and employees during the following times:

  • Monday: 10 a.m.–2 p.m.
  • Wednesday: 10 a.m.–2 p.m.
  • Friday: 10 a.m.–50 p.m.
  • Saturday: Noon-5 p.m.
