Cough, cough: Here’s where you can get your flu shot at Fort Liberty

Posted

With flu season underway, the N.C. Dept. of Public Health is recommending North Carolinians get vaccinated to protect themselves and those around them. Fort Liberty’s Dept. of Public Health and Womack Army Medical Center have organized flu shot drives at various times and locations through Nov. 18.

Fort Liberty Dept. of Public Health Community Flu Drives:

  • 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Oct. 27 at Devers Elementary
  • 2 to 4:30 p.m. on Nov. 1 at Shughart Elementary
  • 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Nov. 4 at Tolson Youth Elementary

Those eligible for flu shots include Tricare beneficiaries who are 3 years old or older, and military retirees. Eligible participants can walk in at any of the times and locations, though children 17 years old and under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Womack Army Medical Center Flu Drives:

  • 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Oct. 28 at Hope Mills Medical Home
  • 4:30 to 6 p.m. on Nov. 7 and 9, at both Robinson Health Clinic and Linden Oaks Medical Home
  • 4:30 to 6 p.m. on Nov. 14 and 16 at both Family Medicine Residency Clinic and Clark Health Clinic
  • 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Nov. 18 at Hope Mills Medical Home

Again, eligible participants — Tricare beneficiaries and military retirees — can walk in at any of the times and locations, but children 17 years old and under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

All eligible participants must present a valid DoD ID card to receive a flu shot. Children’s parents or guardians must bring the children’s social security card or DoD ID number if they do not have an ID Card.
