Cliffdale Regional Library to host second annual trunk-or-treat on Halloween

In 2022, Cliffdale Regional Library hosted its first trunk-or-treat. Feedback was positive, and families really appreciated having a safe place with free activities to bring their kids. It was so much fun and such a success, we have  decided to host trunk-or-treat again.

This year’s event will take place from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Oct. 31 at Cliffdale Regional Library, 6882 Cliffdale Road, Fayetteville. Wear your favorite (but not too scary) costume and join us for the fun.

Collect candy and prizes from trunks decorated by community organizations, then come inside to enjoy a room filled with games, activities and more prizes. In case of bad weather, activities will be moved inside, and our community partners will host tables in place of trunks.

If Halloween is too long to wait, all eight locations of Cumberland County Public Library have fun fall-themed activities planned. Check out the following free library programs happening throughout the month of October:

  • 2 p.m. Oct. 21, Cliffdale Regional Library, 6882 Cliffdale Road. Adult program to make spooky lanterns with provided supplies.
  • 1 p.m. Oct. 24,  Hope Mills Community Library, 3411 Golfview Road. Children's program to pint portraits of pets awaiting adoption at Cumberland County Animal Services.
  •  1-3:30 p.m. Oct. 24, Hope Mills Community Library, 3411 Golfview Road. Family program includes 31 Days of Love pet adoptions.
  • 4:30 p.m. Oct. 26,  Bordeaux Community Library, 3711 Village Drive. Teen program with a book talk about favorite scary and spooky manga titles.
  • 5 p.m. Oct. 26, North Regional Library, 855 McArthur Road. Teen program Halloween Horror SFX Makeup.
  • 10 a.m. Oct. 27, East Regional Library, 4809 Clinton Road. Adult program to create DIY yarn-wrapped pumpkins.
  • 9  a.m.-5 p.m. Oct. 28, Headquarters Library, 300 Maiden Lane. Teen and adult program. to vsit the Crime Scene Library, an all-day event for true-crime lovers. 
  • 3-6 p.m. Oct. 30, Headquarters Library, 300 Maiden Lane. Children and teen program with fun games and activities at the Family Spooktacular.
  • 10 a.m. Oct. 31, Spring Lake Community Library, 101 Laketree Blvd. Toddler program with Halloween storytime.
  •  11 a.m. Oct. 31, Spring Lake Community Library, 101 Laketree Blvd. Preschool program with Halloween storytime.
  •  5 p.m. Oct. 31, West Regional Library, 7469 Century Circle. Teen program with HallowSTEAM. Registration required.
