Detectives with the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office are asking the public for help in finding a car that they say may have been used in a shooting early Tuesday.

Deputies were dispatched to a home on the 3200 block of Reno Drive near Cumberland Road in reference to a shooting at approximately 1:49 a.m., the Sheriff’s Office said in a release.

Deputies found a man who had been shot inside the residence. He was taken to a local hospital, the release said.

The investigation showed that more than 40 rounds of different calibers were fired into the residence, the Sheriff’s Office said.

On Thursday, detectives released surveillance photos of a 2000s model Honda Accord that they believe was used during the incident. The car is gold or silver in color and has damage to the front passenger quarter panel and faded paint in various spots, the release said.

Anyone who has information about the vehicle or the investigation is asked to contact Detective R. Wolfe at 910-677-5464 or Fayetteville / Cumberland County CrimeStoppers at 910-483-TIPS (8477).
